Make a Pet Collar by Yourself

Want to save money by making a collar for your pet? It’s probably easier and cheaper than you think. If you are creative, you can create different collars for each week. It’s simple by following the steps here.

Before this, prepare all the things needed:-

  • Approximately 3 feet of 1 inch nylon webbing (less for smaller pets)
  • 1-inch D-ring
  • 1-inch tri-glide slider
  • 1-inch side release nylon buckle
  • Sewing machine
  • Scissors

Follow the steps, and you will reach the target

  1. Cut a length of 1 inch nylon webbing to approximately 3 feet long. This length may need to be cut down, depending on the type and size of your pet.
  2. Weave one end of the webbing through the D-ring and the receptacle part of the buckle. Fold the end about 1 1/2 inches past the buckle, and sew securely.
  3. Thread the remaining end of the webbing into the slider and the remaining end of the buckle. Fold the end under about 1 1/2 inches past the slider, and sew it securely.
  4. Try it on your pet and adjust for fit. The collar should be snug, but not constrictive. You should be able to fit a couple of fingers between your pet’s neck and the collar.
  5. Personalize the collar. Embroider a design or your pet’s name. It’s up to you.

Done! :)
